Playconomics

Made in Unity, coded in C#
Project Overview
Playconomics is a massively multiplayer city-builder game allowing players to build and manage their own island and economy backed by real economic principles. The game is aimed at teaching players the principles of micro-economics and offers university students the ability to earn course credits by simply playing.

Playconomics is first and foremost an education game, but second a fun and engaging economy builder designed for all players to enjoy

Process
I started working at Lionsheart Studio after graduating for an internship. I was immediately thrown into their project and worked with a small team of professional developers, designers and artists. I was mentored and guided by the very talented and passionate team, who helped me integrate myself into their workflow and pipeline.

During my internship, I worked on a variety of small features such as UI design, sound design and various gameplay features and mechanics. I very quickly adapted to the work and although felt very daunted by the project's codebase at first, I slowly acclimated to navigating around and implementing more features.

After my internship, the team hired me as a fulltime graduate developer, where I worked more closely and in-depth with major systems rather than jumping around little features.
